Samuel Inalegwu (b. 1993) is a visual artist from Benue State. He studied painting at Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, where his formal training deepened a lifelong passion for visual storytelling. He currently lives and works in Lagos, drawing inspiration from the city’s vibrant yet complex energy.
Inalegwu’s artistic journey began with a desire to document and make sense of his personal experiences, particularly themes of memory, displacement, home, and identity. His work often explores the emotional layers of everyday life, drawing on elements from family archives, personal history, and familiar domestic spaces.
Through this approach, he creates paintings that are both intimate and expansive, inviting viewers into reflective spaces that bridge personal narrative with broader human experience.
