Solomon Omogboye was born in 1982 in Lagos. He had his early education in Lagos before proceeding to Lagos State Polytechnic with HND in ART AND INDUSTRIAL DESIGN (PAINTING) in 2007. He was awarded AADS best Artist of the Year in 2007. He is a prolific painter. Encouraged by his mother, a teacher, Omogboye was introduced to drawing as a child. He has worked extensively as an art instructor in secondary schools in Lagos after his graduation and also practice art from his home studio. His paintings are a reflection of his thoughts, inspiration and ideas. The artists mainly uses charcoal, pastel, acrylic and oil on canvas. Omogboye relocated to South Africa in 2014 where he worked as full time artist from his home studio and the Living Artists Emporium, Johannesburg. He is currently based at August House studios in Johannesburg, South Africa. Omogboye's works has attracted local and international attention over the years. He ranks among the young leading Nigerian artists.
