Themba Given Msiza (b. 1986) creates artworks that may evoke a sense of déjà vu for those familiar with his previous exhibitions, particularly his 2019 show titled Asia (As So Is Africa) at the Pretoria Art Museum. The current body of work continues to explore themes of immigration, inequality, hard labor, and xenophobia in South Africa.

While inspired by his surroundings, Msiza's artwork delves into the emotions of regret, nostalgia, grief, and occasional joy that African immigrants in South Africa experience. He is also deeply influenced by the music of Motlapele Morule (Molemi), whose themes align with Msiza's focus on immigration and labor. As an ardent follower of Molemi's music, Msiza draws inspiration from the themes addressed in the music alongside his own personal themes
