Tshogofatso Nkhumeleng
Tshogofatso Nkhumeleng fondly known as I.N.I was born and raised in Soweto, I.N.I started his primary in Molimo where he did his grade 1 until 4 and during that time he failed his grade 3 and 4 and it was painful for him to see his peers moving to other grades and after he passed his grade 4 he went to secondary primary school known as Sapebuso where he was introduced to Room13 which is known to be a art studio where he was mentored by John Vusi Mfupi u who was the artist in resident. In 2009 I.N.I won his first art completion that was run by Webber Wentzel and at that time he was using his mother surname which is Mafuya, he also took part in the Joburg Art Fair. In 2010 and took part in the mural project for the FIFA world cup that toke place in South Africa.
I.N.I started to attend Room13 in Saint Martin which is known to be a Catholic school in Soweto and during that time he was still a leaner in high school known as Emadwaleni high and throughout his high school life he took part in art competitions, markets and Art Exhibitions.
Nkosana Ngobese was an artist in resident at Saint Martin Room13 and he thought I.N.I a lot in art and even the business side of it, after I.N.I graduate from high school he went and Studied Printmaking at Artist Proof Studios for 3years and in 2019 he had a Group show with his peers at Artist proof studio, Cape Town and Strauss & co. In 2020 he applied for an internship and he was granted the opportunity to be part of the special project at Artist proof studio and now he is interning as a gallery assistant at APS.
