Onke Ngcuka
Onke Ngcuka (b. 1995, eKapa, Azania) is a multidisciplinary creative working at the intersection of art, film, and environmental storytelling. Rooted in Xhosa indigenous wisdom, her practice explores inkululeko (freedom) through uthando lomhlaba—love for the land and its people. Her ongoing exhibition, embo where we once knew, presented with Latitudes Online, extends her exploration of nature-native relations. A former journalist with Reuters, AmaBhungane, and Daily Maverick’s Our Burning Planet, Ngcuka continues to weave themes of memory, love, and ecology into her creative practice.
