Adaoma Nnabeze
Adaoma Nnabeze, a Nigerian artist, got her foundation from her artistic upbringing. orn into a family of creatives, Adaoma's early exposure ignited her passion for art. Trained at the Nsukka Art School where she acquired her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Fine Arts, she observed diverse styles under renowned artists like Ozioma Onuzulike, Chijioke Onoura, Eva Obodo. The institution, with its illustrious history and associations with luminaries like Uche Okeke, Chike Aniakor, and El Anatsui, played a pivotal role in shaping her artistic voice.
Adaoma's work is a captivating blend of spirituality, tradition and innovation, reflecting her profound connection to nature and a fearless embrace of experimental art forms. Her artworks not only showcase technical mastery but also convey deep appreciation for human circumstances and cultural nuances.
Her journey has been marked by accolades, including the Anton Chekhov Russian International Art Contest's honorary award, recognition at the Spanish Art and Culture Competition, and winning the Chevron Art Competition.
For Adaoma, she found her voice exploring shades of human thoughts, connections, their manifestations and how they bring to us diverse fates. Brought to life as art through the adaptation of the unique traits of thread/fiber, its connection to life, and its depth of meaning. She works with coloured threads layered in diverse organic forms, all creating holistic schemes of human connections.
