FEDE Arthouse

Established in 2020 by artist and curator, Lebo Kekana, FEDE Arthouse is a nomadic gallery working at the intersection of art, design and culture. Through research-based and site specific presentations, FEDE’s curatorial practice centres around ‘space-making’ to create alternative exhibition experiences in varying environments.
Often through collaboration, FEDE has produced a series of exhibitions predominantly in Cape Town, working with galleries and curatorial platforms such as blank projects, Under Projects and RESERVOIR, as well as presentations abroad at locations in Ibiza and Barcelona, in collaboration with partners such as Pol & Grace Hotel and The Over Gallery.
FEDE sets out to defy the white-wall template, dismissing the clinical approach to exhibition making, opting for a methodology more curious, culturally engaged, and community- based, and thus utilising the exhibition space to undergo research and cultivate knowledge to inform the functions and design of broader shared and public space.
