An Ode to Self
What is the true definition of selflessness?
Is it giving all of yourself away?
Or is it tending to your own growth so you have something meaningful to give?
This piece is a favorite, and one that many can relate to, having seen themselves in it.
At the center is a surreal form: a shower head pouring into a detached figure, with a bouquet of flowers growing from where the head should be. This act of watering symbolises all we need to thrive - nourishment, rest, love, boundaries.
These flowers represent the parts of yourself you offer to others. But without self-care, those flowers never bloom. The clouds surrounding the figure evoke an ethereal, dreamlike space of renewal. This work is a quiet reaffirmation: when you tend to yourself, you become a wellspring for others.
