The artist created this piece during a transitional phase. During her family’s transition to Nigeria from the Philippines, Louise felt uncertain about what her new life in a new country would look like. She conveyed this feeling of being in-between or in-transit; using imprints of leaves, the artist fills negative space with a cloud of thoughts. Her uncertainty has an effect on her identity as well, portrayed with a white silhouette. The uncertainty also holds an air of possibility; fragments of small white stars dot the black background.
