Carstens' work examines the deep connection between humanity and the natural world, with water as a central motif. Through weaving, beadwork, and tactile materials, Carstens capture its fluidity, movement, and reflective properties—both literal and metaphorical. These handcrafted tapestries celebrate water as a source of life and transformation, inviting contemplation on our dependence on and responsibility toward nature.
