Mother

This body of work is the practical output of a PhD study at Durban University of Technology from which I graduated in September 2024. The thesis contributes to the greater Anthropocene debate while framing a series of paintings within ecological art discourse. The series consist of nine large paintings of sea turtles on the coast of KwaZulu-Natal, which I term ‘impact pieces’. These are titled Surveying, I love turtles, Second chance, Mother, Power, Primitief, Green, Wonder, and Shared.
