Wayeyi Dance no.2

"The Wayeyi Dance Series" is a vibrant celebration of my cultural roots—a visual homage to the powerful women of my heritage, whose hypnotic movements and swirling, multi-layered skirts embody the spirit of our traditions. Born into the Wayeyi tribe and raised in Maun along the banks of the Okavango Delta, I grew up immersed in the sacred rhythms of Ishembiro, the coming-of-age initiation where dance, song, and poetry weave together in a tapestry of feminine strength and ancestral wisdom.
