WORLDART is pleased to present the Cape Town instalment of Kilmany-Jo Liversage’s solo exhibition, PREKARIA, following its museum debut at the Oliewenhuis Art Museum in Bloemfontein.
This marks her first solo exhibition in Cape Town since 2024 and introduces a new body of work in her distinctive style, which merges street-art energy with contemporary portraiture.
Having been shown in a museum context, these works now carry the weight of institutional recognition — a factor that strengthens their provenance and affirms their cultural and artistic relevance. The title PREKARIA draws on the word “precarious,” evoking the tension inherent in uncertainty and change. This new series is executed with conviction. At its core lies a pointed commentary on gender equality and representation. Her portraits — often of women drawn from contemporary culture — are not passive subjects but commanding presences. They meet the viewer’s gaze. They occupy space unapologetically.
