This artwork forms part of a body of paintings on paper titled; 30 Paintings, 30 Years’. It’s a reflection, a celebration of the artist's 30 years. As Simone steps into this next chapter of “30”, she wanted to do something meaningful. So she turned to what I know best: art.
Each abstract painting in this body of work is a celebration of giving. Giving means offering love, support, care. It’s a commitment, a devotion. To give is to freely transfer, to entrust & devote with purpose. Here are 30 artworks that give back to the years that shaped me, and to the experiences that taught me. Every piece becoming a tribute to time, memory, and growth.
These works are supporting LALELA (where 30% of the sales will be donated to them), an incredible nonprofit that empowers youth in under-resourced communities across South Africa through arts education. Lalela gives in more ways than one, showing us that art isn't just expression, it's transformation. Providing young people with the tools to imagine new futures and rewrite their own stories.
After 30 years with art as Simone's constant, she knows this for certain: creativity is a lifeline. And everyone deserves access to that power.
This art piece is 1 of the 30 artworks available.
