30 Degrees Away From Home

'Le journal de Gozie (Gozie's journal)' is a compilation of photography, painting and

writing which highlights the importance of documentation and record keeping in my life

with each piece intertwined through varied mediums to present a visual and written diary.

Set within the context of my first trip outside of Nigeria, for my residency at GASWORKS

in the United Kingdom. I map the ancestral, the imaginary, and the embodied notion

of home; drawing from my encounters with the familiar and unfamiliar- objects, people,

and spaces, as I invite the audience into the mundanity of the everyday, and its

diurnal rhythm.
