My work is a reflection of lived experiences and the resilience of the human spirit. I paint children as symbols of hope, strength, and possibility, often using a monochrome blue to capture their emotions in a way that transcends skin color and becomes universal. Blue, for me, represents both vulnerability and power; it carries the weight of struggle while also radiating a quiet dignity.
In this piece, I portray children carrying water, a scene that speaks to daily realities faced by many communities. Beyond the physical labor, it is about endurance, care, and togetherness. The contrast of vibrant backgrounds with the blue figures emphasizes their place in the world—present, visible, yet often overlooked.
I create not just to mirror life but to spark dialogue. Through color, texture, and rhythm, I aim to tell untold stories, honor resilience, and invite viewers to reflect on issues of identity, memory, and social justice. My art is both personal and collective, rooted in my own history while reaching toward a broader human condition.
The work forms part of the continuing 'Untold Stories series'.
