"Mosadinyana," which translates to "young lady" in Sepedi, is an evocative and multifaceted series of two litho prints by a queer artist exploring the complexities of identity. These pieces delve into the intersection of spirituality and gender, challenging conventional gender roles and societal expectations.

At the centre of the artwork is a headpiece intricately adorned with cowrie shells. These shells, historically symbolising wealth and spiritual significance, underscore the richness found within queer identities. The headpiece serves as a powerful metaphor for embracing both feminine and masculine qualities, illustrating the artist's rejection of binary gender norms.

The colour palette features striking hues of blue and white, brought to life through the mimiking of the cyanotype printing process. This technique imbues the piece with a dreamlike quality, evoking a sense of ethereal beauty. The use of blue, often associated with tranquilly and introspection, contrasts with the starkness of white ink, symbolising purity and the blending of diverse elements within the self.

Through "Mosadinyana," the artist acknowledges her identity as a woman while asserting her resistance to traditional female roles. The artwork becomes a spiritual statement, portraying the artist as a genderless, queer being whose essence transcends societal labels. It is a celebration of self-discovery and acceptance, inviting viewers to contemplate the fluidity of identity and the beauty of embracing one's true self.

This unique, compelling, one-of-a-kind ghost print piece not only challenges viewers to reconsider their perceptions of gender but also highlights the inherent wealth and depth found in living authentically, merging the spiritual with the corporeal in a harmonious and visually stunning manner.
