Naissance

This artwork is part of my body of work entitled "Mythologies of Time." It explores the use of AI image generators as tools in my artistic practice. By incorporating the generative capabilities of AI as a chaotic device, I can further explore my technique by dealing with the disruptions brought about by inputting my in-progress work through AI. The result often surprises me as I realize what the final composition is meant to be. In the case of "Naissance," the work is a rich tapestry of symbolism. Behind the central figure of a young man, a cluster of skulls evokes themes of mortality, history, and the remnants of past conflicts. The red foliage behind the figure suggests both life and death, blood and rebirth, creating a stark contrast that speaks to the cyclical nature of existence. Through this symbolism, I engage the viewer, inviting them to infer their own story from the piece.
