This piece forms a part of a series of works. It is an attempt at transcribing marks made by the Wind, traces of movement left on a thin piece of untethered sail cloth. The sail cloth was placed in the veld, untethered. The Wind lifted and gently moved the cloth through the landscape. As it did so, it folded and unfurled and was briefly held by grasses and bushes. In the movement the cloth gathered earth sediments and grass seeds. Little creases and marks were inscribed into the material, as a result of the Winds movement. Several lines of force are retained by the cloth, residues of interactions between Wind, bush, grass, earth and stones. The sounds of these interactions have also found a way into the finished pieces.
