For more than twenty years, these boots have walked beside me. They still look almost new, yet the creases and wrinkles quietly reveal the journeys we’ve taken together. They are both armour and companion — grounding me, carrying me, always ready for another step.
When I wore them as a young adult, people would joke about the Matrix, and those jokes stuck to me as much as the boots themselves. In this work, I embrace that playfulness. The digital rain becomes my own hidden code, stitched through with my stories, symbols, and the number seven — my personal mantra.
The title, Ctrl+Alt+Step, is a wink to those Matrix comments but also a metaphor for life: sometimes each step feels like opening the task manager of existence, reordering priorities, ending what no longer serves, and beginning again. My boots remain the constant — retro, resilient, and quietly extraordinary.
