Cloudia Rivett-Carnac, Traces of What Was, Screen Print, 23.5 x 24.5cm, Ed of 3, 2025, Framed
There are moments that exist only in the hush after a storm — when what was fragile and unseen briefly reveals its strength. Traces of What Was was born from one such moment: the small life I pulled from the water after hail had torn her from her nest. She survived, trembling but whole, and in that act of care I recognised something of myself — the quiet persistence, the tenderness that endures, the instinct to protect what others overlook.
The warm sun behind her is both a halo and a memory a soft circle of time where loss and grace meet. The papyrus-like background carries the texture of old parchment — a way of immortalising these fleeting souls, these small lives that leave their marks not in grand gestures, but in the quiet places where love has been.
