Scarabaeus Satyrus Series
These monotypes trace a journey from darkness toward light — from abstraction to emergence. Each work begins in gestural uncertainty, where form gradually reveals itself through erasure and 'painting with light'. The subject matter is the Scarabaeus Satyrus - a dung beetle that orients itself with the stars - becomes a quiet guide through this process, echoed by the ancient Sky Disk of Nebra, humanity’s first known representation of the night sky. Together they speak of orientation, of finding your way and direction through chaos — transformation not as rupture, but as renewal
