Repressed, Oppressed, Suppressed

A playful, quirky early painting by artist Mika Márffy, depicting the disembodiment and dissociation of the Feminine Body as a site of repression/ suppression/ oppression, through the various roles, beliefs, attitudes, and unrealistic, confining expectations placed on the collective feminine body by a patriarchal ideology. 'Cervix' here becomes a symbol, a portal into an understanding and therefore a transformation or transmutation of the Repression/ Oppression/ Suppression of the collective feminine pain body into a site of collective wisdom.
