Reflection

About the collection: This artwork is one of three from a collection called Reemergence. All three artworks tell a singular story as they represent the circle of life. As we go through life from childhood to adulthood, we all reemerge as new versions of ourselves. The new is built upon the foundation of the old: different but the same. The shadow/black background is to show us emerging from the darkness. About this artwork: With& Reflection, the figure is demure, almost shy to come out in the light. She is distrustful, doesn't yet have confidence and is comfortable not fully coming out. She is a reflection of a part of us that is insecure and sometimes plays small.
